I am a proud HBCU graduate from the Alabama State University. I hold two master’s degrees. One in Public Administration from Auburn University Montgomery and one in Educational Administration from the University of Missouri -St. Louis. I received my doctoral degree in 2018 in Educational Leadership from Maryville University St. Louis.
I have served as a classroom teacher and school administrator since 2003. I have taught kindergarten through eighth grade over my career and been the assistant principal and principal at the primary, elementary and middle school levels. I have always enjoyed working with children and providing them with an equitable and high quality education.
As an educator and author I promote social change through academic empowerment. Knowledge is the key to opening a myriad of doors. Through my work I chose to inspire Black youth to take advantage of literature and learn for themselves the real change needed for the world they will ultimately inherit.
