Mesiah Sampson

The Mysterious 3

Hi everybody! I’m Mesiah Sampson, the author of this book and if you're reading this book thanks for the support! During my life I have always loved drawing, or as others would say doodling as a young child, but when I entered into the 3rd grade, everything changed. I started to become a really good artist, and I decided to create a graphic novel, which is now The Mysterious 3. I’m currently thirteen years old and in the seventh grade. I play multiple sports such as soccer, football and kickball. I am a hardworking young man who also likes to play video games, and I’m planning to become a successful entrepreneur.

Dr. Sheldon C. McAfee

Shango

Hello. I’m Dr. Sheldon C. McAfee, or Dr. Mac as I’m affectionately known by my students. I was born and raised on Chicago’s Southside where I attended Thomas Hendrick Academy and the historically Black high school, Wendell Phillips HS Academy where I graduated salutatorian.

I am a proud HBCU graduate from the Alabama State University. I hold two master’s degrees. One in Public Administration from Auburn University Montgomery and one in Educational Administration from the University of Missouri -St. Louis. I received my doctoral degree in 2018 in Educational Leadership from Maryville University St. Louis.

I have served as a classroom teacher and school administrator since 2003. I have taught kindergarten through eighth grade over my career and been the assistant principal and principal at the primary, elementary and middle school levels. I have always enjoyed working with children and providing them with an equitable and high quality education.

As an educator and author I promote social change through academic empowerment. Knowledge is the key to opening a myriad of doors. Through my work I chose to inspire Black youth to take advantage of literature and learn for themselves the real change needed for the world they will ultimately inherit.
